The beautiful gardens of the middle of Hastings County

We had a lovely, lovely day today (though hot and humid) enjoying the Friends of the Tweed Library Garden Tour. The gardens were absolutely amazing, and this photo (taken at the garden of Terry and Len daSilva) will, I hope, whet your appetite for a gallery of photos that I’ll post when I’m back in the Land Of Better Internet. Tonight in my sunburned state I just want to say that what these gardeners have accomplished (in sometimes trying conditions, like the Canadian Shield and blackflies) is absolutely stunning. And inspirational, for aspirational gardeners such as myself.

And the proceeds of this great event go to help the Tweed Public Library. How great is that?

    • Truth be told, Elspeth, it was a brutally hot and humid day when we did the Tweed Garden Tour! Raymond hates heat and humidity, but he bravely held up and we did the whole thing. Fortunately the very last home we visited was on a large open piece of land where cool breezes were blowing – and where they were serving lemonade. Most appreciated!
