What makes the local news

Oldest watermainI had to smile when I came across this headline in one of the local weekly papers, the Community Press, recently. Can you imagine a more interesting news story than the replacement of the oldest water main in the the village of Norwood? (Norwood is a little less than an hour’s drive southwest of Queensborough, along good old Highway 7.) People, this is local news to the proverbial nth degree.

And you know what?

I read every word.

Hey! Speaking of local news, here is one more reminder of a very important event that takes place tomorrow evening (Wednesday, April 9): the Ham Supper at St. Andrew’s United Church in Queensborough. It runs from 4:30 to 7 p.m., the food will be fantastic (it always is), and Raymond and I will be there, working hard along with all the other volunteers from the church. It’s a big fundraiser for our little church, and a grand time. (I’ve written about it before, here and here.) I hope to see you there!
